everyday life: week 1 + 2

so, i’m a little late in the game but...happy New Year! (16 days late, oops!)
the last couple of weeks have been busy trying to get ready for this New Year. I finally had some time to sit down and reflect on 2018 and plan and prepare my heart for this New Year. more on that later, but one of the things I wanted to attempt to do (yet, again!) this year is to document the beauty in the everyday with these “everyday life” posts. I’ve attempted this for many many years. i’m not one to stop doing something for fear of failure (probably to everyone’s dismay, lol..) but here I go again in my attempt to post these!
my goal for this is mainly so that I can have these snapshots of what everyday looked like for me. it’s so fun to look back at my previous years and see what life looked like in 2012, 2014, etc. so heres to 2019! my kids are at a really fun age (3 and 16 months!) and life is busy, chaotic, messy and so much FUN! I want to be really intentional in every aspect of my life this year. and i’m hoping that taking these snapshots of the mundane will help me to redeem everything, big and small, for the glory of God!
so here it goes, hello 2019!
we started the New Year with a family lunch date at souplantation (possibly our family’s new fave place!) my MIL gave me a ton of gift cards so we have gone twice already.
The kids were so happy (so much carbs!) and I set up a little vegetable sampler for them from the salad bar so that they can try a little bit of everything! one of my goals for this year is to eat healthier as a family and surprisingly they tried a lot of different things from their veggie platter!
we celebrated asher’s birthday as a family by going to a really fun indoor playground! we stayed there for a total of 7 hours to get our money’s worth and they had a blast!
this was probably our fave thing from there. :)
Mongolian bbq x ZOODLES!! Game changer. SO GOOD and surprisingly filling!

Awesome uncles came to visit Asher for his birthday and brought a gigantic cake!

post- “not-so-secret” santa date with our buddies and some delicious bundlets thanks to Jenn eemo!
This girl has her priorities straight. FOOD > PLAY
Celebrated Asher bday with some of his buddies at MyGym and it was so much fun! Was definitely a last minute party but they made it so easy!
Parachute play gives me life.

And this one was HUGE. (Pics from GDY!)
Birthday tradtion inspired by my fellow-blogger friend Kathy. Asher had the biggest smile on his fave when I read him the list of all the things we loved about him! Praising God for our silly, lovable and crazeball 3 year old.
We watched the Marie Kondo documentary on netflix. Enough said.
Prepping leftover veggies from our fridge for tomorrow’s breakfast.
Leftover veggies turned breakfast hash. Also, I love eating proscuito in the mornings (WITH AVO)
A little woodworking project with my inspiration of a friend Christine!

What we had made after the first 6 hours (LOL) So much fun!

Sam got sent home from work and came to get some baby therapy. She used her $$ to rent Frozen for the kids to watch. We love you!

Finished product! So many adventures of cooking together ahead!
The most delicious taiwanese lunch + my kids leftovers (aka my lunch)
Disney dates with one of Asher’s fave people.

Post-nap disney junior dance party audience member. I love her post nap face..
Sharing is caring! Enjoyed this delicious cupcake (thanks auntie Em!) with his buddy T. They ate it all up and then they were bouncing up the walls.

Burger night by chef Ryan! Ryan wanted to make Asher a burger for his birthday (coolest uncle ever!!!!) and made me a protein style one!
Even doctor’s appointments are fun with these two!
#KONMARI coming on strong again

Souplantation again for family day. They are getting better and better at snacking on these veggies (the DIPS help, i’m sure!) and I love how they both influence each other. This day, Asher began to LOVE raw cauliflower (what?!)

The last birthday celebration of the year with auntie Lyssie who drove all the way from LA to bring us so many portos goodies. Blessed beyond measure..

Cant wait to see what the rest of year has in store. Stay tuned!
XO
