About Us

Hi, my name is Sharon and this is my blog.

I love to blog about the joy and beauty I find in everyday things.

But let's be honest,
I mostly talk about food. :)

(I swear he's usually a lot happier than he appears in this photo)

My husband and I got married in October of 2011 and we have been trying to figure out this marriage thing ever since. We are learning and growing every day! The rock and foundation of our marriage is Jesus. It truly is only through Christ's example of unconditional love and grace to us in the gospel that we are learning to love and serve one another in our day to day lives. Marriage is hard, but it is a huuuuge blessing and we are loving every little bit of it.

My husband is currently in pharmacy school and I'm a nurse by trade. I've wanted to be a nurse since I was 7 years old, so I guess you can say I am living my dream! I am a full time neuroscience/stroke nurse. My nursing passions include: high-quality stroke care, teaching/training new nurses, empowering people by patient education and hospice/end-of-life care. I'm really passionate about what I do and see it as a great honor and privilege to be able to care for others in the most hardest of days. I'm always striving to work wholeheartedly and excellently during this season that God has entrusted to me and love every moment of it; but if I can be completely honest with you -  my dream job now is to be a stay-at-home mom/home-maker/meal-planner/vegetable-garden tender.  : )

In Feb 2014, I did a soft opening for an etsy shoppe, filled with goodies that I create and wanted to share with others. It's still in the early stages and I am still brainstorming what my concept will be and what my shop will be all about - but in the meantime, I have been so grateful for the support I've received from friends and strangers alike. I hope to grow this little shoppe into a business one day - one that will be able to help support my little family as a stay-at-home mom (God-willing, in the near future!) and also to use my love for paint, words and design to bless others.

I am also a lover of lattes, DIYs, easy recipes and home-making. I find so much joy in these things and love sharing my joy with others. This little quote captures so well why I love to blog:
I think we delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment; it is its appointed consummation. It is not out of compliment that lovers keep on telling one another how beautiful they are; the delight is incomplete till it is expressed.
(from Reflections on the Psalms, by C.S. Lewis)

There is so much joy and beauty in even the mundane, ordinary things if we take the time to look and appreciate it. This blog allows me to do just that. From the silly mistakes that I make around the house, to the easy recipe that I try and find true - the joy of what I'm doing or what I'm eating or what I'm learning is multiplied when I'm able to share it with others.  This is my little space to praise God for those little things.

There isn’t anything particularly special or interesting about us -  but I hope that this blog will testify of our God’s faithfulness and grace to us as we live our day to day lives as a married couple. As I share our lives with you through this blog - our adventures, lessons, joys and sorrows... we hope that our love for Jesus and our faith in his gospel will be magnified and that you would be blessed.

Coram Deo,
Eugene & Sharon
