We love summer vacation! (Update)

Hola!

It's been over a month since we've posted anything - but that's because Eugene's summer started and we've been soaking up every sunny and free moment with every ounce of our hearts. It's been lovely!

Finals week was busy as usual - Eugene had spent most of his days at school studying - those days were filled with sleepless nights, frantic cramming sessions and coffee overloads. My wifely duty during finals week is to have high-fiber, high-super food smoothies ready to go, healthy packed lunches/dinners in the fridge, early morning runs to Portos to pick up Eugene's favorite dulce de leche latte and chorizo + egg sandwich and laboring in prayer for my husband in the sidelines.

Finals week had come and gone, and we celebrated in our two favorite ways: sushi and movies.

We've been doing a lot of really fun things so far.

We've had many spontaneous date nights, took a spontaneous trip to Vegas (and literally slept the entire time - we only went outside once and that was to go to Walgreens for snacks!). We've played tennis, had many game nights, spent time with friends/family, went on gym runs together, read at Starbucks, attended weddings, etc. It's been amazing! I'm enjoying every moment and praising God for every little thing.

Even though Eugene is freed from most of his school obligations, he's been working a lot more hours and our lives have moved on as usual. We're enjoying our time together at home, and we love that we can actually eat meals together again! I've been learning different ways to meal plan, and have been trying my best to incorporate more whole-food, balanced meals into our day-to-day life.

I also picked up a job on the side. I'm working for a hospice agency and have been visiting hospice patients in their homes. Working with hospice patients has always been a dream of mine - so it's been so much fun!

Look at all the stuff I get to keep in my car!

We just got back from the Anchored Conference in Phoenix, AZ.

(Can I just say I could totally move there? I loved everything about it - minus the heat. I love all the cacti.) It was a huge blessing. It was a weekend full of convicting messages, awesome worship and sweet fellowship. We ate a lot, drank a lot of coffee and served so well by the preaching.

Now that I'm refreshed and re-energized, I'm ready to face another week of real life/work.
(I have work everyday this week until Saturday!!!) I'm strengthened and resolved to go about my day-to-day joyfully!

Give thanks:  an encouraging/fun weekend, sweet friends, "Heads Up!", late night internet shutdowns which leads to late night talks with my husband, an easy transition back to work, journaling, spotify, the gift of sleep, the power in prayer, excitement to use my Lucky Dozen free drink at Starbucks tomorrow morning (!!!)

It's the little things, people.
