everyday life - week 1

happy week 1. :)

2015 is pretty sweet so far. i had a pretty amazing week at work (got new years day off!) and was able to spend a lot of great time with friends + family. i've also been reflecting a lot this week. overwhelmed and humbled as i think back at the many blessings and evidences of God's sweet grace in 2014. this year is gonna be great too, i'm sure.

week 1 was so short (only 3 days!) so i decided to add some of the best moments from our last week of 2014. starting with christmas day!

eugene and I both had christmas day off (which is super rare - first time in three years!) so we were able to spend it at my parent's house over some beautiful food. this is our amazing (+ colorful) spread of DIY california + spring rolls.

the weather has been piercing cold these days. thankfully, eugene is always down for pho and this weather is so perfect for it. here we are ending our 2014 with a beautiful bowl of pho.

jumping on the popbar bandwagon. it was too hyped for me - but i can always appreciate things that taste like matcha green tea kitkat bars. :)

the most stressful game in the world.

burnouts are not my fave.

my favorite kind of snack - made 100x better with our new panini grill. yay! so much crunchier than toasted bread.

we housed my sister in law heidi + her friend recenna for a few days last week. it was such a blast having them over, going on foodie adventures and staying up late to watch movies and play games. here is the adorable, personalized gift recenna made for us!

celebrating a day off and ringing in the new years in the best possible way: with family + chirashi bowls. (eugene and I had to share. so huge!)

back to work and so thankful for my job (despite the crazy people and crazy times.)

so much good food while h + r were with us. here we are having the best kbbq in the world. we got 3 corn + egg refills.

my annual tradition continues. i always try to make at least one peppermit-flavored thing every winter season. for the last two years - these peppermint oreo truffles have been our thing. it will probably be our thang for the next few years.  FOR EVA.

spent the day at the zoo with the best tour guide ever. 4th graders are the best! we freezed our tails off but we saw almost all the animals and had the best time!

quick detour to give h + r the asahi sushi experience. totally worth the extra miles.

goodbye, december! (someone brought whip cream to work and i love them for it.)

trying to replace my coffee with more tea. tea is so soothing. and starting strong on my yotb game. hoping and praying I can keep this up!

have a beautiful week, sweet friends!
